FAQ

how long will the session last?

i have a unique way of approaching portrait photography, in which i allow each session to evolve around my subjects. it depends on each person's (and animal's) comfort level. i want to capture my subjects being themselves and sometimes that requires a little "warm-up time" and "fun breaks" in-between shutter clicks. "family love" sessions usually last up to 2 hours, where "a day in the life" sessions can be closer to 3 hours.

what do you mean by on-location?

basically it is the opposite of working in a studio. i prefer to work with available natural light in surroundings that are meaningful to my clients. whether it be in your home, your dog's favorite park, the beach, an urban location, the farm or the cottage, i travel to you.

how far do you travel?

i am located in toronto, but i take sessions all throughout ontario (i love to summer in muskoka) and if the right situation came along i would be on a plane to photograph you and your loved ones wherever you are.

what should we wear?

i want your own style to shine though, however, when asked, i my suggestion is "to keep it simple". please avoid crazy patterns, designs and logos, which can be distracting. we can discuss more detailed options on our phone consultation.

colour or black and white?
i love my colours saturated and my black and whites rich and i love them both. i do show a variety of both and use my artistic discretion to decide which image suites which look. please look through my galleries for examples. if you have a strong preference either way, please let me know.

uh-oh...i just broke out. will you retouch?

absolutely! blemishes and scrapes are temporary and not who you are. a few spots here and there definitely fall under "standard retouching". i will not remove scars, moles, freckles or birthmarks unless it is requested by you. please inquire beforehand for "major retouching".
