The ‘Where’s Archie?’ Game

A month ago, my cat Archie did a commercial shoot for Toronto Animal Services. I was not present at the shoot (the photographer is Andric Ljubodrag), although the handler told me that he was shot against green screen and that they would be Photoshopping him onto an iceberg. She also told me that he rocked the shoot (although that didn’t surprise me since he’s been photographed almost daily since he was 8 weeks old).

But i didn’t know where or when the ad would appear.

Last night as I was walking up my street…low-and-behold, there was the ad staring at me…just a few blocks from my house! I screamed with delight then proceeded to laugh and yell out a series of happy exclamations (i’m pretty sure i frightened the girl standing at the bus stop).

I was so excited to see my boy on such a large ad. It’s a fantastic concept and shot. Kudos to Art Director Kennerth Fothergill and the rest of the creative team who made it happen!

Toronto Animals Services has dogs, cats and other small animals available for adoption at their four locations in the city. They actually had a hand in helping care of Cameron when I found her on the street.

I thought this would be a wonderful opportunity to give back, so i’ve created…

THE ‘WHERE’S ARCHIE?’ GAME

The rules are simple:

1. Spot Archie’s ad anywhere in the city (in any form of media).

2. Take a photo of it (with your phone, ipad, camera, whatever…)

3. Upload it to the Marcia Leeder Photography Facebook page by adding it to the wall (you must join the page first in order to upload photos).

4. Add the exact location of where the ad you found is located in your caption.

FOR EVERY PERSON THAT UPLOADS A PHOTO OF A NEW LOCATION, I WILL DONATE $10 to TORONTO ANIMAL SERVICES.

FOR EVERY PERSON THAT UPLOADS A PHOTO OF A DUPLICATE LOCATION, I WILL DONATE $5 to TORONTO ANIMAL SERVICES.

So keep your eyes peeled and tell your friends. You never know what other form of media he might turn up in! Together we can help the rescue animals in our city are given the best care.

UPDATE: Thank to everyone who participated. Archie turned up all over the city. I have forwarded a donation for $100 to Toronto Animal Services.
